About the event
In a society that teaches us very little about deep connection and intimacy "The Circle" offers a soothing balm to your hearts. Here, you are invited to slow down, tune in and explore the rich landscape of authentic sexuality, relationships and intimacy in a community-centred space.
For so long we've been taught to hide these aspects of ourselves away due to shame or fear. But, we don't need to do it alone anymore. Together, we can heal the disconnection within ourselves and within our communities through learning, sharing and being together just as we are.
This is a space to be curious, to start from the beginning and to connect with others who are navigating similar paths back to Self.
Whether you’re new to these conversations or have been exploring them for years, you're really welcome to join us here. The Circle aims to be an environment where everyone, regardless of background, identity, or experience level, feels seen and valued.
The Circle includes:
- Embodiment & Movement: We begin grounding yourself in your body with gentle movement practices, helping you arrive fully in the space.
- Group Discussion: Share and listen in an open dialogue, where your voice and experience is valued. There is no pressure to speak—come as you are, even if that means simply listening and absorbing.
- Q&A with a Sexuality Professional: Bring your questions and curiosities to a trusted expert in the field of sexuality, relationships, and intimacy.
- Connection Practices: Accessible practices for connecting with yourself and others that you can take home to increase your relationship to sexuality, intimacy, boundaries, consent and communication
Who is this space for? This is a queer-led space rooted in inclusivity and respect and all sexual preferences, gender-expressions and relationship styles are welcomed. The practitioners involved actively work to decolonise their views on sexuality and relationships and bring that view into the work we offer here. If you have any access needs or concerns about joining, please reach out to us at riahopetherapies@gmail.com.
Accessibility: To get into the venue there is a small concrete step. To reach the bathroom there is also two small steps. This makes it unsuitable for wheelchair users. We are working at finding a more accessible venue for hosting these events and apologise to those whose access needs are not met here. All exercises will be adaptable to different movement abilities (if you have specific access needs please email us). Most people will likely sit on the floor for the duration, but there are two chairs for those who can't sit on the floor.
What will you need? Feel free to bring snacks or anything that will make you comfortable throughout the evening. There are teabags and a kettle there to make yourself a hot drink. You are welcome to bring a journal and a pen too.
Tickets are £30 with a number of 'No Questions Asked' concession spaces for £18. There are also 3 completely free spots for BIPOC & trans attendees that need them.
Now, more than ever, we need spaces to explore, connect and grow. "The Circle" is here for just that—come and be part of the movement.
